Pick the Saturday, not the mascot
A domain registrar is a utility. The mascot, the Super Bowl ads, and the color of the checkout do not matter if the name renews, privacy stays on, and DNS works. What matters is whether you are buying only a name, or a name plus a website plus mail from one company so you do not have to think about nameservers this month.
If you already know you will publish a one-page site on a hosted builder this weekend, and you do not want to learn what an A record is, GoDaddy is the more coherent cart. If you already have a builder in mind — Squarespace, Wix, or a developer’s host — buy the .com at Namecheap, turn on privacy and auto-renew, and point the name later.
